Approach the 7th Inning XP Path in MLB The Show 26 as a series of roster-building checkpoints, not a single 300,000 XP commitment. That mindset matters whether you are protecting your MLB 26 stubs for a needed upgrade or simply trying to get the best value from your regular Diamond Dynasty sessions. The path runs through September 25, and its early rewards give most players a realistic reason to start now rather than wait for an ideal lineup.
Make Brian Dozier Your Opening Target
The first card worth circling is 99 OVR Prime Brian Dozier at 47,500 XP. It is a far more useful target than staring at the final reward and assuming every game has to serve a months-long grind.
The opening stretch also includes packs, Stubs, and a Headliners Pack. Those smaller payouts matter because they make progress feel useful before you reach a featured player card.
◆ Set 47,500 XP as your first finish line.
◆ Let normal Diamond Dynasty games build progress while you complete objectives.
◆ Evaluate Dozier when you earn him instead of assuming he must stay in every lineup.
For newer or returning players, this is the sensible entry point. You can earn a high-rated reward without committing to the full path immediately, then decide whether the next major milestone fits your roster.
Build Around the August 28 Missions
The August 28 mission group is the fastest early source of focused progress because it provides 31,500 XP when completed. Playing without a plan can still move the track, but these objectives create a much better return on your time.
◆ Score 15 runs for 4,000 XP.
◆ Earn 500 PXP with Cornerstone Series players for 5,000 XP.
◆ Record 15 extra-base hits in Weekend Classic or Solo/Co-op Ranked for 7,500 XP.
◆ Hit 45 home runs and steal 34 bases for 7,500 XP each.
The key is overlap. A productive game with Cornerstone hitters can add PXP while also moving your run, home run, and extra-base-hit totals. Keep those players in your everyday lineup long enough for the PXP requirement to finish; constantly swapping cards usually slows the process.
Keep Mode Requirements From Wasting Your Time
Only the 15 extra-base-hit mission has a specific mode requirement: Weekend Classic or Solo/Co-op Ranked. That makes it a good objective for players already comfortable in those modes, but it should not dictate the entire program for everyone else.
Use your preferred mode for runs, homers, steals, and Cornerstone PXP. Save Weekend Classic or Ranked games for the extra-base-hit requirement, where they actually provide a direct benefit.
Fast players can help with steals, although forcing attempts with poor baserunners is rarely efficient. Likewise, power hitters naturally support the home run target, but a balanced lineup is often better for runs and extra-base hits than stacking only sluggers.
Claim the Previous Inning Collection Reward
Players who completed the 6th Inning have a major head start available. Collecting both 99 OVR Awards Dustin Pedroia and 99 OVR Milestone Ken Singleton grants 30,000 XP toward the 7th Inning path.
That bonus is substantial: it covers a large share of the trip to Brian Dozier before you account for mission XP or regular gameplay. Check your collections first, especially if both cards are already in your inventory.
After Dozier, the next useful markers are the Home Run Derby Choice Pack at 70,000 XP, CC Sabathia at 170,000 XP, the ASG Night Choice Pack at 210,000 XP, and the Boss Choice Pack at 300,000 XP with David Wright and Manny Ramirez.
In MLB The Show 26, the efficient route is simple: claim the 6th Inning bonus if eligible, stack the August 28 missions in one functional lineup, and reassess at each reward threshold. If a roster gap remains, cheap MLB 26 stubs can be weighed against the value of the next XP reward, but the path itself is best handled one checkpoint at a time.
